Here are some suggestions to get your claim resolved in an efficient and satisfactory manner.

For all claims, the type of information you will need includes some or all of the following:

  1. Date and approximate time of the incident
  2. Any photos and/or witnesses
If you have a claim involving injuries to third parties, the insurance carriers will need to know full details of the incident as well as contact information for the third party. If you believe the third party was responsible for the incident, you will need to obtain the third party's insurance policy number.

Property Claims

If you have damaged property, please take the necessary practical steps to protect it from further damage until the insurance adjuster contacts you.

Automobile Claims

If you have had an at-fault automobile accident, you will need to obtain estimates from 2-3 auto repair shops. In some cases, your insurance carrier can recommend a repair shop and will provide a discount if you use their recommended repair shop. Do not begin any repair work until you have been contacted by the insurance adjuster.

If you have been in an accident and are not at fault, you will need to obtain the following information from the other parties:
  1. Contact information
  2. Driver's License Number
  3. Car Tag Number
  4. Name of insurance carrier and carrier's contact information, if available.
  5. Insurance policy number
  6. Police report, if available.
  7. We strongly advise keeping a disposable camera in the glove compartment to take pictures of the scene, damages to the automobiles, and any other parties' tag number.

Report a Claim

In most cases, it is best to call your insurance company directly to file a claim. In some cases they offer 24 hour/7 days a week claims service. Although they can often find your account/policy by your name or your company name, it is desirable to have your policy number available.
